Matthew is a junior from Columbus, Ohio and is attending Denison University with a double major in political science and communication. He is the current President of the College Democrats of Ohio, and previously served as the organization’s Vice President, Digital Director and Secretary. He also serves as the National Director of Communications for the College Democrats of America. Matthew previously served as the National Deputy Communications Director and National Press Secretary for the College Democrats of America. Matthew was a Finance Assistant on Montana Governor Steve Bullock’s presidential campaign.
He served in various internships and fellowships at Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senate, Danny O’Connor for Congress, the Ohio Democratic Party, Kathleen Clyde for Secretary of State, SEIU 1199, Hillary for America, the Official Office of U.S. Sherrod Brown, Columbus City Council, Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman and the United States Senate. Matthew sees the College Democrats of Ohio as a vessel to allow for progressive college students to be heard, and a mechanism to elect and hold our leaders accountable.
Serena Ishwar is a second year student from Delaware, Ohio and is attending The Ohio State University with a major in Political Science and minors in World Literature and Legal Foundations. She is the current President of the College Democrats Chapter of The Ohio State University, and previously served as the chapter’s Secretary. Also, she is a proud Morril Scholar and Politics, Society, and Law Scholar as well. She hopes to use her experiences and devotion to serving others as an immigration attorney one day.
Hunter Graffice is a junior from Alliance, Ohio and is attending Ohio University with a double major in journalism and political science. He serves as a representative on the student senate at OU and is an active member of Ohio University College Democrats. Outside of his political involvement, Hunter writes for his school’s newspaper, The Post, and works for the Office of Community Engagement in Athens, Ohio.
Braeden is a junior from Lexington, Kentucky and is attending Wittenberg University with a triple major in cybersecurity, political science, and Russian language. He has served as the president and vice president of the Wittenberg University College Democrats. He is also serving as the editor-in-chief of the Wittenberg Torch newspaper and acts as the assistant campaign manager, public image manager, and senior designer of Cynthia Richards for Ohio. Braeden is also a CRLA-certified foreign language instructor, a Wittenberg University social media manager, and a technical server systems specialist for his home school district.
Chloe Mieras is a fourth-year from Lorain, Ohio and is attending Case Western Reserve University with a double major in Political Science and Religious Studies and a double minor in Women’s and Gender Studies and Sociology. She is the current president of CWRU College Democrats as well as a member of Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity and Kappa Alpha Theta. She has worked both in offices and on campaigns to assist and elect politicians she believes in. She is studying to become a defense attorney and will be attending law school following her senior year. Chloe values the opportunities she has had because of being involved in CDO and wishes to help each individual chapter grow to its full potential.
Alexis Greene is a junior from Springfield, Ohio and is attending Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in Politics and Government and a double minor in Cultural Geography and Women and Gender Studies. She is the current president of the Ohio Wesleyan University College Democrats chapter. Alexis also serves on the Politics and Government student board at Ohio Wesleyan, participates in different service opportunities, and serves as a Resident Assistant for freshmen in the first-year service and leadership community.
Hayley Fournier is a third year student at Bowling Green State University. She served as BGSU’s College Democrats President for three semesters, as well as serving as the Chief Graphic Designer for College Democrats of Ohio for one term. Hayley also serves as the Campus Liaison and resides on the Wood County Young Democrats’ Executive Board, as well as serving as a central committee member for the Wood County Democrats. Aside from her political duties, Hayley serves as the Vice President of Membership for her sorority and works as a tour guide at BGSU.
